THE ROSE IN HISTORY
Its presence and its perfume from antiquity to the Renaissance, the rose and its poets, the rose queen of perfume.
The Franco-British Society has the pleasure to invite you to an immersive talk on the theme of roses by French luxury perfumes and cosmetics specialist Regine Pasquet.
On Wednesday 8th May 2024 from 18.30 to 20.30
At The Hub, Regent’s Park
Since ancient times, the rose has been known for its beauty and fragrance. The queen of flowers, in many civilisations, it carries exceptional symbolic richness. Present in history, art, literature and especially poetry, the rose is also one of the most beautiful flowers used in perfumery, a true symbol of femininity and love.
Régine Pasquet will take you on a beautiful journey to France, then to England, through the different facets of this unique flower, its history and its symbols. George Sand, the famous French writer, presented the rose as “the daughter of God and Men”.
This talk will be an immersive experience where we will have the opportunity to smell magnificent rose masterpieces including La Rose Jacqueminot by François Coty.
Please note that the talk will be given in French.
For those interested, a visit of the Queen Mary's Rose Gardens in Regent’s Park will be organised prior to the talk.
The talk will be followed by a light dinner and refreshments.
Programme and event details are available in the invitation in English HERE / in French HERE
