Harpist Valeria Kurbatova and French flautist Luce Zurita form an award-winning duo based in London. They are both graduates of the Royal College of Music where they hold scholarships respectively from ABRSM and the Leverhulme Postgraduate Studentship. They started playing together in October 2012 and have appeared since then in many chamber music recitals in London (Royal Albert Hall, National Gallery, the Houses of Parliament) and across the UK.
They were finalists of the Croydon Concerto Competition 2013 where they performed the Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto with the Croydon Symphony Orchestra. Subsequently they were offered performances with various orchestras, including notably the world premiere of a double concerto written especially for them. In 2014, they performed the Mozart Concerto in Westroad Concert Hall in Cambridge and they won the Jellinek Prize and the Charles Sampson Award. |
