Captain Weatherall, 20th Hussars offered in 1890, the premises, ‘127’, to the Calvary Club. In 1975, the Guards Club merged with them and brought some fine military pictures and silver (including a beautiful candelabra).
Successive Committees have organised the refurbishment and redecoration of the Club House which is now a wonderful building and perfect setting for our talk to take place. Edward Cholmondeley-Clarke is a graduate of Université de Grenoble and Trinity College Dublin. Being educated in three countries and working in others has given him a very personal and multi facetted perspective on history. This talk takes us from 1803 and through to 1814 to the time after the Treaty of Paris and the release of the prisoners. |
